LGB Trains 3050 Dark Green Coach


Also ID'd as 30500.

Made from 1971 on.  Four wheel, third class compartment coach of North German Island Railway (ex-Prussian).  Dark green body with four side doors on each side leading to separate compartments, both smoking and non.  All compartment doors open. No end platforms or end doors.  Window in orange-yellow inset frames.  Compartment walls with one piece bench seats.  Gray to greenish gray clerestory CL2 roof.  One window in each door.  Steps with railing to reach roof on hook coupler end.  Embossed 3050 ID until at least 1985.  Foot plate extends along entire length of body which enables the conductor to enter individual compartments even while car is in motion.  See 30503 and 30504, introduced in 1997, for comparision.

Length: 300 mm

A series: 1971-73. Unpainted dark green grab irons same color as body.  No brake pipes. E1 spoked wheels, step with six supports. White Roman numerals on doors with black background.  Forward compartment second or third class.  Embossed plastic green-colored door handles.  No roof vents.

B series: 1974-75.  Same as A, but with white third class Roman numerals on black background.  Red smoking and white nonsmoking signs.  Embossed plastic green door handles.  Grab irons painted black.  Only 5 step supports.  Brake pipe present on end with steps to roof.  E2 spoked wheels, has roof vents.

C series: 1975-78.  Same as B, but with round stainless steel "rivet-head" door handles.  No frame markings. Painted grab irons.  No brake pipes.

D series: 1979-80. Same as B, with dark green painted body.  Type 1 frame markings.  Four 1/2" tall roof vents.

E series: 1981 on. Same as D, but with elongated, gold colored functional door handles.  Lettering details on each side include "3050", "KC2", "5,65t", "40 P1", "26,75", and "Hbr" in upper left corner and "Nhz" in lower left corner.  Frame lettering slightly different than D.
