LGB 2055 White Pass Diesel Locomotive Train
Made from 1989-91. C-C (Co'-Co') White Pass and Yukon DL535E diesel locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works. LGB model is painted WP&Y blue on lower body, white on upper body, separated by small black stripe. Orange stripe at roof line, black roof, trucks and chassis. Powered by two motors. Has constant lighting mode switch. Very first American prototype diesel has off center kingpins located above the innermost axles to permit unusually long locomotive to navigate narrow gauge LGB track.
Length: 630 mm
A series: 1989. Small black "White Pass" on white section of body covers half of the area between louvered vents, next to orange and black rounded logo. White "110" below cab windows. Red LED rear light mounted on cab roof that illuminates when locomotive is operating in reverse. Does not have "ALCO" embossing on journal boxes. Only 100 made, most with Serial Numbered Certificate. At least 2 were used for promotional purposes by LGB's U.S. PR firm and do not have the certificate, but box is signed by W. Richter. Most went to high-volume U.S. LGB Train dealers.
B series: 1990-91. Same as A, but full production model. Markings on frame edge include "F", Alco manufacturer's plaque, and "EMERGENCY FUEL CUT OFF" above front truck as well as "FUEL" above fuel tank, water refill instructions plaque above rear truck. White detail markings on fuel tank include "DIESEL FUEL ONLY" above "500 GALLONS" above "CAPACITY" located beside sight gauge markings. Red LED read light is mounted on cab roof and flashes when locomotive is operating in reverse. "ALCO" is embossed on journal boxes. Does not come with certificate.
